Definition of Terms

There are different types of definition but in research, we use "operational definition" to define the variables in our own terms in respect to the usage of our research.

What is Operational Definition?

It  makes the abstract qualities concrete. It describes the observable characteristics of a variable - the things that the researcher can observe or measure directly. The things you can see and measure are visible representations of the abstract qualities. ( Mckinley , 208)

What to Define?

1. Identify terms in your title

2. Identify the variable in your research (see conceptual framework)

3. Identify   the   treatments and measurements (Data and Data analysis terms)

4. Identify technical terms (unfamiliar terms applied in research)
